Crossroads Church

Idol Fun

Episode Summary

Idols seem so outdated and yet still they distract us and demand our attention. While we may not worship small statues made by hand, we find ourselves enslaved to technology that fits in our hands. We may not go to a temple seeking the blessings of health and wealth, but we are willing to work at the temples of our career and fitness. The danger we continue to face is making good things god things, but our only hope is found in the true and living God.

Episode Notes

The themes of doubt and despair find expression in the questions of the prophet Habakkuk. Standing as an advocate between humanity and God, Habakkuk gives voices to some of the questions that we are afraid to even whisper in the dark. But God is not afraid of these questions, He is not afraid of our past, present, or future. Instead, we are encouraged to embrace a hope that is lived in faith in Him.
